"The annual event created by the dancers of the Nederlands Dans Theater 1 and 2. In that one evening each year the dancers are given the opportunity to express themselves through art by presenting their own works, the audience gets to enjoy and taste a vast variety of creative pieces, and last but definitely not the least, all the money raised goes to charity. A different charity is chosen every year by the dancers.
"This year SWITCH will be supporting the Dutch charity Jeugd Cultuur Fonds. We think that everyone should have access to arts. It is very important that arts is a part of education. Unfortunately there are many underprivileged children who dream of being musicians, actors, singers etc., but they have no financial capacities to afford art classes.
"Jeugd Cultuur Fonds makes it possible for them to get those lessons, teachers and material. The dancers feel it is rewarding to know they can be a part of helping these children get connected to their artistry, creativity, talent and dreams. The dancers are working to make SWITCH’12 a creative, fun and pleasant event to attend.
